DE DEUR. – The police in De Deur are appealing to the public for assistance in locating the family or relatives of an elderly man found wandering in the area.
According to police spokesperson Constable Mampho Mahlomola, 76-year-old Alfred Kefiloe Rathebe was found roaming the streets of Waterdal on January 6.
Rathebe told police that he was born in September 1949 at Eastonville (Residensia). He further indicated that he was on his way to the Department of Home Affairs in Vereeniging to apply for an identity document when he was found.
Mahlomola said Rathebe cannot remember his residential address or the whereabouts of his family and relatives.
“We are requesting anyone who may recognise Rathebe or know his family to come forward and assist,” said Mahlomola.
